This little one wandered onto a construction site in Richmond. We could never find her siblings or her mother. She did pretty well for a time, but had trouble breathing; seemed to try too hard to breathe in. She was so small that the x-rays and ultrasound were inconclusive. the doctors thought she might have a diaphragmatic hernia (a small or large one in her diaphragm) and that the intestines were pressing into her lungs. Sometimes she could breathe normally, and sometimes with difficulty. She was scheduled for a second ultrasound. I found her just lying on the floor one afternoon, having a lot of trouble, and, long story short, she died that same night. We all miss this beautiful little soul!
