Sweet Mama Mita
This sweet lady was at the Villa Alvarado Apartments' colony. She was one of sixty-three (or more) when I started trapping and caring for the cats there. One of the residents called her Slendy, for Slenderella, as she was small and svelte. She had babies, and kept them safe until they were old enough for me to take them. These little ones all found homes, and after Mita was spayed, she eventually let us pet her when we came to feed...
Twelve years passed, and she developed an eye problem. I took her to the opthamologist, she recovered, went back to the colony. Her eye got bad again, and I brought her home to stay. She stayed around the front of the house. One day she came up the driveway, weak. Doctors were not sure what affected her, thyroid/kidney failure or maybe cancer. She left us July 23, 2018. We love you Mita!
