Carmella Bella
An amazing rescue, that of Carmella. She was in the arms of a hapless looking teenager at the BART station. I knew this wasn't right. Long story short, the young man agreed that he didn't have the first clue about caring for a kitten: riding on noisy BART without having her in a carrier was very start of all he wasn't ready for. He sweetly let me take her...
She blossomed into a most beautifu and independent cat. Eventually she went out on her own, racing in twice a day to eat, and back out again. Sign. Then she went missing for six days. A kind neighbor found her in her yard, and called me. She was limp and unresponsive. I figured that she must have gotten into some toxin. Two doctors, two sets of blood work, still not sure of the cause of death. She was making neither white nor red blood cells. She died next to me this morning. And is greatly missed!

She was in perfect health before she went missing...
