Ventura Ave. Raoul

Dear gentle Raoul wasn't with us long.  He was one of the many black cats at our colony on Ventura Ave. in San Pablo, near the casino and Wildcat Creek. He was not too robust when I took over feeding there, and after a few months he was thin and weak.  Weak enough that I could pick him up and bring him home.  That's a tough call, as if they're terminal (as he was) they may prefer to die at home...wherever it is. But he seemed grateful to have a warm safe bed, and was calm and happy for the short time he was with us.  He is on the couch in the living room in this photo, not hiding or wary one little bit.  He was loved, and is missed!
