Snatched from certain tragedy! These two were found with their mother and siblings at the entrance to Wildcat Canyon Regional Park. Mother had obviously lived with humans, as she was not afraid of me, and let me pick her and her babies right up! Cruel but true, folks sometimes abandon their cat when she gets pregnant. Cibelli hadn't been on her own for too long, and had just given birth. She did not seem (that's seem) traumatized by her situation, and set about nursing her babies when they arrived.
She even took the two orphan newborns who were left on our deck two days later! Go Cibelli! A sweet, gentle mother, she!
