Spay & Neuter Information
I'm only three months! Don't neuter me yet!
At Bee Holistic we are dedicated to keeping cats out of shelters, and are 100% behind altering cats so there are no unwanted kittens. We are also dedicated to the health of all the cats we take in, so we DON'T spay or neuter before their little bodies are grown, healthy and are ready to be altered; at at least six months of age. Our kittens are not fed non-organic food, so no growth hormones, thus no early puberty. Cats who eat food with growth hormones may undergo early puberty, as alas, do our human children.
Most rescue organizations will alter kittens too early to be sure they are "fixed" before they leave the shelter. If a kitten under six months of age is adopted through us, we simply take a deposit of $100 per cat, which is refunded when proof of the surgery is presented. Our folks all understand the importance of keeping populations down until all have good loving homes! We are, of course, more than willing to help with this process. Fix Our Ferals has opened a new very low-cost Spay-Neuter Clinic in Richmond, (!!!) which makes the process much more affordable and easy.
