Ryan

We lost Ryan in the night last night.(9/30/2019) He was only five months old. He was seen Saturday, got x-rays & blood work, and a likely diagnosis of the dread FIP...Feline Infectious Perotinitus. He had quickly developed some labored breathing, and went right in to the vet. I've had only one or two such cases, and so far back I can't remember how they went... The vet drained a LOT of bloody fluid from his abdomen, and ruled out heart disease; the heart looked okay. The fluid sample went to the lab, and we won't get the results for a day or two. He was to have more fluid drained today...I gave him a good big dose of bupenorphine last night. He didn't seem to be in too much distress, but...well, he died in the night. He was called Cuddly-Boo, Cuddly Wuddly, Wuddly...and for good reason. He went quickly, there is that. And there's a treatment in the works...not in time for Ryan, but I pray that it comes onto the market soon, and works! Love to all. the 'bad' eye in his photos is the result of a bad infection. Eye surgery saved the day for him!
